The Sintra National Palace offers several concessions to make visits more accessible for everyone. Find out if you are eligible for a reduced-price ticket or free entry. Please remember to bring a valid ID to prove your eligibility. For accessibility concessions, please see our accessibility page.

Eligibility for Discounts

Free Entry

    • Children under 6 years of age.
    • Visitors with disabilities (and one companion).
    • Residents of Portugal on Sundays and public holidays.

Reduced Price (€10)

    • Youths aged 6 to 17.
    • Seniors aged 65 and over.

Family Ticket (€35)

    • Provides admission for two adults and two youths (aged 6-17).

How to Claim

To benefit from free or reduced entry, you must present a valid identification document at the ticket office on the day of your visit. For residents of Portugal claiming free Sunday entry, a Citizen Card or other proof of residence is required.

When booking online, select the appropriate ticket type (e.g., Youth, Senior). Be prepared to show your corresponding ID at the entrance when your ticket is checked.

Common questions about concessions

Do I need to book a ticket for my child under 6?
While entry is free, they still need to be accounted for. Please check at the ticket office on arrival if a zero-value ticket is required for entry.
Is there a student discount?
The palace offers a discount for youths up to age 17, but not a general discount for university students over 18.
Does the free Sunday entry for residents apply to all monuments in Sintra?
Yes, this policy applies to all monuments managed by Parques de Sintra for residents of Portugal. Be aware that these days can be very busy.
